This March, Danish-Swiss artist duo Ulrik Martin Larsen and Stefan Friedli, better known as PUTPUT, will be exhibiting their first UK solo show at Hoxton’s KK Outlet in what promises to be an exciting collection of visual and sculptural representations, fused together to subvert the ordinary within extraordinary and reconsider the processes that shape our perceptions of the unaltered ready made.
Combined and manipulated, the exhibition will demonstrate how the positioning of objects in unfamiliar spaces can add new meaning and value to the work and will further highlight the often-underrated power of context over content.
In a series of old and new projects, Cheating Sameness will have you reaching for your inner child as you engage in a series of double takes and tongue-tied grins, prompting you to reconsider the images of the everyday, that go too often unnoticed.
Expect pink foam, fun and even sausages, in a collection of everything but the ordinary.
Cheating Sameness opens at KK Outlet from 6 – 28 March 2015
Launch night 5 March, 7 – 9 pm.
